Which cover has no deposit?

The cover you choose decides what is covered, the deposit and the excess. Each car shows them before you book, and none of the covers needs a credit card.

Why other companies ask for a credit card

International rental brands usually block a security deposit on a credit card to cover the excess. Many desks won't accept a debit card for that block, so travellers without a credit card get turned away at the airport.

As a local company, we work differently: Full cover replaces the deposit, and you pay by debit card.

Renting without a credit card: questions

Can I rent a car in Crete without a credit card?

Yes. Goldy does not require a credit card on any cover. You book and pay online with a debit card, and at pick-up you only need your driving licence and ID.

Is there really no deposit?

With Full or Premium cover, yes: the deposit is €0 and nothing is blocked on any card. With Basic cover a refundable deposit applies, and each car shows the amount before you book.

Can I pay with a debit card?

Yes. You prepay online by debit card when you book and pay the rest at pick-up in cash or by card, so you don't need a credit card at any point of the rental.

What is the difference between Full and Premium cover?

Both bring the deposit to €0. Full cover reduces the excess, the most you would pay towards damage, and includes glass. Premium cover adds tyres too, and on selected cars it brings the excess to zero.

Does this apply at Heraklion and Chania airports?

Yes. The same covers apply at Heraklion and Chania airports, the ports and every resort we deliver to. Each car in the search shows the deposit for each cover.

Do young drivers need a credit card?

No, the rule is the same for every driver. Age limits depend on the car category, so enter the driver's age in the search to see the cars you can rent.

What do I need to bring at pick-up?

Your driving licence and your passport or ID card. If your licence was issued outside the EU, you may also need an International Driving Permit.
