Driving tips for Hersonissos
- Take the VOAK, not the old roadThe old coast road through the resort is slow and full of pedestrians. Use the VOAK for anything further than the next village.
- Hairpins on the way to LasithiThe road up to the plateau is paved and well marked, but has tight bends. Use a low gear on the way down.
- Park at the edge of the villageKoutouloufari and Piskopiano have narrow streets. Leave the car at the entrance to the village and walk in for dinner.
- Watch for pedestrians at nightIn summer the main street is busy late into the night, with people crossing anywhere. Drive slowly through the centre.
