DRIVER’S AGE
The client has to be at least 23 years old for all-size vehicles.
DRIVING LICENSE
The client must hold a valid Hellenic or European Union driving license or an International driving license, issued in any country by the competent authority.
MINIMUM RENTAL TIME
The minimum rental time is one day, for all categories of vehicles.
PAYMENT METHOD
For all groups, a valid Credit/Debit Card accepted by Goldy Rent A Car must be shown for the pre-authorization of the renter’s liability as well as the settlement of final rental charges (for non-paid reservations).
Although we try to ensure that all prices quoted on our websites are accurate, errors may sometimes occur. We will inform you as soon as possible if we discover an error in your reservation’s price and allow you to confirm your booking at the correct price or cancel. Our usual cancellation charges will not apply if you choose to cancel. If you cancel and have already paid for your rental, you will receive a full refund. If we are unable to contact you, we will treat your reservation as canceled.
DEPOSIT FOR GUARANTEE
Upon pick up of the vehicle, Goldy Rent A Car will preauthorize an amount from the driver’s credit/debit card as a deposit for guarantee which will be fully refunded at the end of the rental, provided no other charges arise. Please note that the refund can take up to 14 days, depending on the issuing bank of the credit/debit card. The amount of the deposit varies according to the car group.

FUEL-GASOLINE
At the start of rental, the renter is required to pre-pay the cost of any petrol in the tank of the vehicle to be rented. Upon the return and only then, of the rented vehicle, the renter may request a refund of the cost for any remaining amount of fuel in the tank, which if less than that of the initial pre-paid quantity, a Refueling Service Charge will be applied.
TRAFFIC FINES
All fines resulting from the drivers conduct are born solely by the renter.
INSURANCE
Goldy Rent A Car customers are insured for third parties’ personal injuries and property damage, in accordance with the country’s applicable law and for the amount it lays down.
The customer has the option to choose to be insured at an additional charge (depending on the car category) with Mixed Insurance (CDW), which means it ALSO covers the rented car’s material damages and pays ONLY the exempted amount, depending on the type of rental.
Additional (optional) insurance for theft (TPI) is available to the Goldy Rent A Car rentals customers for a daily charge that depends on the type of rental.
RESPONSIBILITY WAIVER
The client is exonerated from responsibility for all damages to the rented vehicle provided that he accepts and signs the clauses regarding the additional mixed insurance (C.D.W) and insurance against theft (T.P.I). The insurance company, based on the signed contract, does not cover a certain amount, namely: the sum of 500€ for the small and medium-sized category vehicles, and 1000€ for the big-size category vehicles. Caution, the mixed insurance and the insurance against theft are valid only if the regulations of the Traffic Code are observed. Please note also that mixed insurance does not cover damages to the tires, to the undercarriage, and to the interior of the car.
DRIVER’S INSURANCE
The driver’s personal insurance (P.A.I) amounts to the amount of 10 € per day, provided that when the damage is estimated up to the amount of 620 € it is borne by the driver, in case the damage is estimated over 620 €, the driver is charged with the amount of 620 € and the rest of the cost is charged to the insurance.
The insurance does not cover glass breakage, vehicle tires, the interior of the vehicle, theft and the underside of the vehicle.
TYRE INSURANCE
Tire insurance amounts to 5 € per day and covers tire damage.
GLASS INSURANCE
The glass insurance amounts to 5 € per day and covers
damage to the windows of the vehicle
ADDITIONAL DRIVER/S
A charge of €5 per day has to be paid for each additional Driver.
BABY SEATS: Available on request with a daily charge of €8.
GPS: Available on request with a daily charge of €5.
RESERVATION CANCELLATION
Cancellation is not charged within 48 hours from the date of booking, otherwise it will be charged with the daily cost of the vehicle selected.
CHANGING THE VEHICLE CATEGORY
The initial booking is binding for the vehicle category. In extreme situations, Goldy Rent-A-Car rentals may change the vehicle category, if it is deemed necessary.
DELIVERIES
Deliveries take place at the Heraklion International Airport “NIKOS KAZANTZAKIS”, during Goldy Rent A Car rentals working hours, AT NO EXTRA COST.
The price for each delivery that takes place within the city limits is pre-arranged by the company. For longer distances and for all car categories he customer is charged 0.50€ per km. For night deliveries -returns (between 20:00 – 09:00 hours), the fee is 20€.
DRIVING THE VEHICLE IS PROHIBITED
1) outside the borders of Greece
2) loading it on a ship
3) driving on unpaved roads
